Paper Piecing with Freezer Paper Workshop

We all know and love how wonderful paper piecing is for creating intricate, precise blocks, but ripping out all those itty-bitty bits of paper at the end is so irritating! Doing paper piecing with freezer paper let's us keep all the precision of paper piecing, but with none of the ripping out of tiny bits of paper at the end. In this 2 hour workshop students will learn how to paper piece with freezer paper using my Burst pattern. Burst is a great scrap buster and the pattern includes three size options - mini, throw and large lap. No previous paper piecing experience is needed; as long as students are comfortable with their sewing machines, they’ll be able to experience the magic as they create their own Burst quilt blocks. Students during the workshops often say they’ll never go back to paper piecing the regular way again, and they can take their new freezer paper skill and use it to make any paper pieced quilt pattern.

Conquering Curves Workshop

Sewing curves intimidates a lot of quilters, even ones who have been quilting for years. But curves can add so much fun and movement to our quilts! In the 2 ½ hour long Conquering Curves workshop, I use my Noodles pattern to guide students through stitching their first curved quilt blocks. The Noodles block is a gentle introduction to sewing curves and the pattern is fat quarter friendly. The workshop is suitable for all quilters, beginner to advanced, who are comfortable with their machines and with stitching a ¼" seam. Students will leave the workshop with skills that they can then apply to any curved blocks they want to stitch.
