That means I only have to do the sashing that runs horizontally, the borders and the binding before I can declare this finished.
Yeah, it's still going to be a while.
I have a bad habit of putting this aside to work on
That being said, today's sewing session was spent transforming the last of the four-patch blocks for my Hands2Help quilt. Now all the blocks are done so I can start putting this one together.
In other news, I managed to give myself a sore wrist by sewing too many hexagons, so I've had to take a break for a couple of days.
Caution: Too many hexagons can be hazardous to your wrist! |
As usual, I'll be linking to these places. Have a great week!
Your machine looks so tiny compared to the quilt :-) I like your hexagon project the blue background makes the colors really pop.
ReplyDeleteLove your log cabin! It is one of my favourites!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks for the hands to help quilt are spectacular! I have heard that some people have issues with getting these blocks to come out right. Doesn't look like you had any issues at all :)
ReplyDeleteI am totally the type of person to get an injury while hand sewing! Your EPP looks super yum though. I hope your hand recovers quickly! And your log cabin quilt looks like some intense quilting. Bravo to you! :)
ReplyDeleteI injured my knee machine appliqueing on my Go Real Fast Quilt and had to put it aside for awhile. I use the knee lift so I can keep both hands on the quilt as I move it.
ReplyDeleteYour FMQ looks amazing, and I am excited to see the D4P.
ReplyDeletegorgeous, Leanne! I love the dark background on your log cabin and your hexies!
ReplyDeleteand- who has ever heard of a hand sewing injury? I HAVE! I have injured my wrist with too much rotary cutting before (stacking and bearing down on too many layers of denim), and I had to have surgery on it two years ago. Before I had the surgery, I tried rest and cortizone shots to no avail. I had to completely stop quilting for awhile. So, take care of your hands and wrists. As implausible as it sounds, a serious injury can happen!
Thanks so much for linking up to Needle and Thread Thursday!

When I first started my hexie quilt, I injured my wrist pretty badly by working on it for many hours on the same day. Since then, I time limit myself with a timer and work on it at most for an hour per day. I hope your wrist feels better very soon.
ReplyDeleteLove all the projects. The colors are beautiful and the background fabric for the hexies is gorgeous.
