New Life was first published in Make Modern magazine and the pattern has now been updated to include baby (48" x 48") and queen (96" x 96") size options, along with the throw size (60" x 72") shown here. I still have shelves full of old jeans and could probably make four or five more versions easily. There's no shortage of quilting fabric scraps, either, and I'm sure you can relate to that!
Using denim in a quilt gives it such a wonderful texture, especially with this raw edge applique, as the edges of the applique shapes will fray and soften over time.
This is one of my favourite quilt pictures of all time. I just love the bright blue of the sky with the bright colours of the quilt.
New Life is available as a PDF in my Etsy shop and my anniversary sale code is still valid. Woo hoo! Use the code '7YEARS' to get 25% off all of my patterns, including New Life, through March 20th. This is the only sale I have all year, so buy your patterns now if you want to save!
As I've mentioned before, every little bit of promotion helps for small businesses, so it would be wonderful if you'd pin this image to help other quilters find my pattern. Thank you!
We have just started a long weekend and the sun is shining, so I'm looking forward to some snowshoeing and some sewing. I hope you have a good weekend, too!
Don't forget to use the code "7YEARS' when you buy patterns now through March 20th!
I love this quilt! It's exactly what we need right now ;)
